Renting in Amman: what a fair lease includes

Most disputes between tenants and landlords start with something nobody wrote down.

• Deposit: the amount, and the condition in which it is returned.
• Notice: how many days either side must give before leaving or ending the lease.
• Repairs: which repairs the landlord pays for and how quickly.
• Building charges: included in the rent or paid separately.

Photograph every room on the day you receive the keys and send the photos to the landlord.
